Description

Teach first-year pharmacy students in an in-person Pharmaceutical Care Skills Lab, with responsibility for extemporaneous compounding, sterile compounding, and foundational clinical skills. The role also includes student coaching, remediation support, and coordination with other instructors across campuses in a hybrid work arrangement with regular on-site time in Duluth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and deliver lab-based instruction for the Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center course sequence.
  • Prepare, update, and implement course materials, syllabi, schedules, grading policies, and course website content.
  • Collaborate with instructors across campuses to plan and lead sessions and align course delivery standards.
  • Support and train teaching assistants, including PharmD students, graduate students, and pharmacy residents.
  • Manage assessment rubrics, grading consistency, re-grade requests, and electronic assessment workflows.
  • Coordinate simulated patient events, student support activities, and makeup lab sessions.
  • Provide office hours, answer student questions, and assist with remediation plans and materials.
  • Participate in college and university service activities, including instructor meetings and student support panels.
Required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • License or ability to obtain licensure to practice pharmacy in Minnesota.
  • Strong pharmacy practice background with knowledge of pharmaceutical care.
  • Previous teaching experience, such as precepting, lecture delivery, or developing teaching materials.
  • Ability to coach learners, support growth, and handle difficult conversations appropriately.
Preferred
  • Residency training or equivalent experience.
  • Board certification.
  • Experience in more than one healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of computer technology used in teaching.
  • Experience with student coaching and success.
