This part-time psychiatrist role focuses on supervising and mentoring a team of PMHNPs while also providing consultative care for higher-complexity psychiatric cases. The physician reviews treatment plans, supports clinical escalations, and contributes direct follow-up care, medication management, and psychotherapy when appropriate. The work is part of an integrated behavioral health model with therapists, care coordinators, and clinical leadership, with a strong emphasis on measurement-based care and workflow improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor 10-12 PMHNPs on clinical protocols, best practices, and onboarding support.
- Review documentation, treatment plans, and billing practices for quality and compliance.
- Provide second-opinion consultations and manage higher-complexity psychiatric cases with APPs.
- Conduct follow-up assessments, prescribe medications, and offer psychotherapy when clinically indicated.
- Support APPs with clinical crises and escalation management in line with compliance processes.
- Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and other clinicians in interdisciplinary case reviews and care planning.
- Participate in process development to improve tools, workflows, treatment guidelines, and care models.
- Partner with clinical leadership and the Medical Director on psychiatric practice standards and decision support.
Required
- MD or DO with board certification in psychiatry.
- Active license in an IMLC-eligible state or in one of the listed priority states.
- Experience supervising and mentoring advanced practice providers.
- Familiarity with state collaborative practice agreements and supervision regulations.
- Active, unrestricted federal DEA registration.
- Eligibility to obtain separate DEA registrations in all utilized states as needed.
Preferred
- Additional state licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses.
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and virtual care delivery.
