This part-time supervising psychiatrist role centers on mentoring and overseeing PMHNPs in an integrated behavioral health model while also providing consultative psychiatry for higher-complexity patients. The physician reviews treatment plans and documentation, supports clinical escalations, and delivers follow-up medication management and psychotherapy when appropriate. The work is collaborative and measurement-based, with input into workflows, protocols, and care model development.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor licensed PMHNPs, including onboarding support and ongoing clinical guidance.
- Review treatment plans and documentation for quality, compliance, and appropriate billing practices.
- Support APPs in managing clinical crises and complex clinical escalations.
- Provide second-opinion consultations and treatment recommendations for higher-complexity cases.
- Conduct follow-up assessments, manage medications, and offer psychotherapy when clinically appropriate.
- Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and clinical leadership in an interdisciplinary care model.
- Participate in case reviews, clinical discussions, and operational planning.
- Help refine tools, workflows, treatment guidelines, and psychiatric care protocols.
Required
- Board-certified psychiatrist with an MD or DO degree.
- Active, unrestricted federal DEA registration.
- Eligibility for, or participation in, the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, or an active license in a priority state.
- Experience supervising and mentoring advanced practice providers.
- Familiarity with state collaborative practice agreements and supervision regulations.
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain separate DEA registrations in utilized states as needed.
Preferred
- Additional state licensure or willingness to obtain additional licenses.
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and virtual care delivery.
