This role focuses on supervisory and consultative psychiatric support for advanced practice providers caring for mental health needs in an outpatient, women’s health setting. The work is primarily remote and does not include a routine patient panel. The clinician partners with clinical leadership to support safe, evidence-based care and help guide complex cases, medication management, and escalation decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide collaborative supervision for PMHNPs and other applicable APPs in accordance with California requirements and clinical policies.
- Conduct brief recurring supervision touchpoints with assigned APPs and remain available for additional clinical questions or consultation.
- Provide guidance on complex psychiatric presentations, medication management, diagnostic questions, and escalation of care.
- Review cases or documentation when clinically indicated or required by regulation or policy.
- Partner with clinical leadership to support safe, evidence-based psychiatric care.
- Help identify clinical trends, risk areas, and opportunities for provider education.
- Maintain required supervisory agreements and documentation.
- Escalate patient safety, quality, or clinical concerns appropriately.
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Active, unrestricted California physician license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Experience supervising, collaborating with, or providing clinical consultation to PMHNPs or other APPs.
- Strong knowledge of outpatient psychiatric medication management and evidence-based mental health treatment.
Preferred
- Experience supervising APPs in a virtual or telehealth setting.
- Experience in women’s mental health, reproductive psychiatry, or integrated primary care.
- Additional active state licenses, particularly New York or Arizona.
- Experience working within a multi-state healthcare organization.
