This role leads a team of RNs who conduct quality audits and chart reviews in a virtual, oncology-focused care environment. The clinician focuses on reviewing documentation, identifying trends, and supporting quality improvement across the nursing team rather than delivering direct patient care. It also includes people management, reporting, and coordination with quality leadership in a tech-enabled, value-based care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coach a team of RN quality reviewers through workload oversight, onboarding, feedback, and performance support.
- Conduct and coordinate chart audits and peer reviews using clinical documentation standards and medical necessity criteria.
- Analyze quality findings and audit data to identify trends, outliers, and recurring issues.
- Maintain dashboards, trackers, and audit records to support real-time visibility into quality performance.
- Prepare data summaries, trend reports, and materials for quality meetings, leadership reviews, and cross-functional updates.
- Support the Quality Manager with delegated workstreams, follow-up on action items, and quality program execution.
- Assist with root cause analysis, issue escalation, and tracking corrective actions through resolution.
- Reinforce documentation standards through audit-based feedback and ongoing team coaching.
Required
- Active RN licensure.
- At least 3 years of clinical experience.
- Experience in oncology, care management, or a high-acuity setting preferred for clinical credibility.
- Experience with quality assurance, chart review, compliance, or clinical audit work.
- People management, team lead, or supervisory experience.
- Strong data organization and trend-identification skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a virtual or telephonic care environment.
- Familiarity with digital documentation workflows.
- Experience using quality tracking tools or dashboards.
