Provide medical oncology leadership for a cancer care navigation program, supporting members through virtual clinical encounters, complex case review, and escalation management. The role focuses on interpreting and acting on electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs), setting clinical thresholds, and collaborating with navigators, community health workers, and cross-functional teams to improve oncology care delivery. In addition, the physician helps develop protocols, support clinical trial access, and represent the organization in discussions with payers, health systems, and other partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ePRO program strategy, including clinical vision, threshold setting, escalation pathways, and ongoing iteration.
- Work with product and technology teams to align ePRO tools with current oncology evidence and member needs.
- Provide clinical guidance and education to frontline care teams, including Oncology Nurse Navigators and Community Health Workers.
- Participate in case conferences and support management of complex or escalated oncology cases.
- Conduct virtual visits with members as needed.
- Develop and maintain clinical protocols and support care team training, updates, and feedback.
- Help members access clinical trials and contribute to external clinical discussions with payers, health systems, and partners.
- Support clinical content, policy positions, and responses to oncology-related questions.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification in Medical Oncology.
- At least 3 years of post-fellowship clinical experience caring for oncology patients.
- Unrestricted medical license.
- Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with ePRO implementation, iteration, or reporting.
- Experience using video visits, Google Suite, Slack, or electronic health records.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
