This physician role provides oversight and collaboration for nurse practitioners delivering general oncology triage and palliative care. The work centers on chart review, note co-signature, periodic case discussion, and clinical consultation rather than direct patient visits. It is a part-time, remote/asynchronous supervision role for a Georgia-licensed physician based in the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as collaborating physician of record under a written nurse protocol agreement for each supervised NP.
- Co-sign NP clinical notes and charts according to the protocol agreement.
- Participate in regular collaboration meetings to review cases, care patterns, and quality concerns.
- Conduct periodic chart and record reviews.
- Provide scheduled availability for clinical questions and consultation.
- Support nurse practitioners delivering oncology triage and palliative care services.
Required
- Active, unrestricted Georgia medical license.
- MD or DO degree.
- Principal practice location physically based in Georgia.
- Comfort with a remote/asynchronous consultation model.
Preferred
- Prior experience in NP/APRN collaborative or supervisory relationships.
