This role focuses on outpatient adolescent medicine consults and medical care for children and adolescents in a behavioral health hospital setting. The clinician manages acute and chronic medical issues, supports multidisciplinary care, and provides medical oversight for hospital-based behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient consultative care for adolescents with medical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs.
- Deliver evidence-based adolescent health services in a multidisciplinary, team-based setting.
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions for children and adolescents receiving care at the Youth Behavioral Health Hospital.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient health needs and medical follow-up.
- Participate in clinical call coverage for urgent medical concerns.
- Provide physician leadership and medical oversight for services within the Youth Behavioral Health Hospital.
- Develop and maintain clinical protocols and processes for patient assessment and medical management.
- Collaborate on quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and program development.
Required
- Board certified or board eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
- Completion of fellowship or equivalent post-residency training.
- Clinical experience appropriate for faculty-level responsibilities in adolescent and behavioral health care.
Preferred
- Interest in education and clinical teaching.
- Experience supervising medical residents and advanced practice providers.
- Experience with inpatient and outpatient clinical consults.
