The physician conducts virtual consultations for patients across Africa, taking histories, reviewing symptoms, and creating evidence-based treatment plans for a wide range of medical concerns. The role also includes second opinions, review of diagnostic results, electronic prescribing when appropriate, and coordination with local teams to support follow-up care. Physicians collaborate with clinical leadership and operations to improve workflows, contribute to protocols, and maintain quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual patient consultations and perform comprehensive medical assessments.
- Review symptoms, medical histories, and diagnostic results to guide care decisions.
- Provide evidence-based treatment plans aligned with local standards and available resources.
- Issue electronic prescriptions when appropriate and document encounters in telehealth systems.
- Coordinate with local healthcare partners to support continuity of care and in-person follow-up.
- Provide second opinions and participate in case discussions with local clinicians.
- Contribute to clinical protocols, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and operations teams to improve workflows and compliance.
Required
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in the United States.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or a relevant specialty.
- Experience or comfort with telemedicine or virtual care delivery.
- Ability to use video consultations, electronic health records, and secure messaging platforms.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and evidence-based treatment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
