This part-time contract psychiatric nurse practitioner role provides virtual psychiatric care for new referrals and established patients, with a focus on psychiatric diagnosis interviews and medication management follow-ups. Care is delivered through a telehealth platform using video visits, with treatment planning and documentation handled in the same workflow. The position supports independent practice with team coordination available as needed and includes behavioral health services in a tech-enabled setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial psychiatric diagnosis interview examinations for new patient referrals.
- Provide evaluation and management follow-up visits for established patients.
- Use the telehealth platform to complete video sessions, document care, and manage treatment plans.
- Coordinate with the psychiatry team as needed.
- Treat patients within the state of licensure.
Required
- Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in Iowa.
- Active DEA registration.
- Individual NPI number.
- Fully completed and signed CAQH application.
- Independent liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1 million occurrence/$3 million aggregate.
- Reliable internet connection.
Preferred
- Prior experience providing telehealth-based psychiatric care.
- Experience working independently in a private practice or contract setting.
