Provide scheduled telepsychiatry and behavioral health care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) via secure telehealth, including virtual psychiatric assessments, mental health evaluations, and medication management when appropriate. Care is delivered remotely from home and is tailored to a population that is often underserved in traditional settings. The role also involves collaborating with caregivers, residential support staff, and interdisciplinary clinical teams, with structured onboarding, ongoing education, and support for multi-state practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual psychiatric assessments and mental health evaluations during scheduled telehealth shifts.
- Develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and manage psychiatric medication regimens when clinically appropriate.
- Provide patient-centered behavioral health care tailored to individuals with I/DD.
- Collaborate with caregivers, residential staff, and interdisciplinary clinical teams.
- Document visits and treatment plans in telehealth platforms and EMR systems.
- Participate in onboarding, telehealth training, ongoing professional development, and clinical education.
- Work with credentialing and licensing staff to maintain multi-state licensure, Medicaid enrollment, and insurance credentialing.
Required
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- At least 2 years of clinical experience.
- Active, unrestricted New York Physician Assistant license prior to scheduling shifts.
- Active DEA license.
- Clean malpractice and sanction history.
- U.S. citizen or Green Card holder residing within the continental United States.
Preferred
- Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, mental health, or telepsychiatry.
- Experience treating patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
- Willingness to obtain additional multi-state licenses.
- Comfort practicing in a remote telehealth environment.
