Lead a telehealth physician workforce by overseeing initial patient assessments, physician performance, and day-to-day clinical quality for a virtual care platform that connects patients with physician advocates. The role centers on building systems for clinical governance, onboarding, documentation standards, and escalation management while ensuring a high-quality patient experience. It also involves partnering across Product, Data, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Clinical Recruiting to support growth, new service lines, and physician leadership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to medical directors and associate medical directors.
- Set performance expectations and build accountability frameworks for the physician group.
- Develop and mentor physician leaders and support succession planning.
- Define clinical quality strategy, measures, benchmarks, and improvement targets.
- Oversee telehealth clinical operations, including capacity, utilization, and service delivery standards.
- Set and enforce clinical policies for scope of practice, protocols, documentation, and telehealth guidelines.
- Monitor physician performance data, including productivity, quality, patient satisfaction, and documentation compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on strategy, accreditation readiness, clinical policy, and workforce engagement.
Required
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license.
- Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine.
- At least 5 years of direct patient care experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing physicians or medical directors.
- Experience in virtual care.
- Experience overseeing clinical quality, peer review, or patient safety programs at an organizational level.
Preferred
- Experience with multi-state medical licensing and credentialing standards.
- Familiarity with value-based care, payor contracting, and network adequacy requirements.
- Prior startup experience, especially in a tech-forward clinical startup.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and working cross-functionally.
- Comfort operating autonomously in a high-growth, tech-enabled environment.
