This remote Medical Director role focuses on pulmonology medical affairs, with responsibility for shaping medical strategy, launch planning, and data-generation plans for a respiratory indication. The clinician will work across scientific communications, publications, medical information, field medical, HEOR, and other medical affairs functions, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams and external experts. The role requires full EDT hours and includes regular early meetings, with travel possible domestically and internationally up to 25%.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute medical strategy and medical affairs plans aligned with broader company objectives.
- Lead medical input for cross-functional partners in clinical, operations, HEOR, commercial, and development activities.
- Coordinate data-generation strategy, including gap analysis and product evidence planning.
- Review publications and help create medical backgrounders, FAQs, standard responses, and internal training materials.
- Build and manage thought leader engagement plans and external relationship networks in the therapy area.
- Partner with Medical Strategy, regions, and finance to plan and manage the annual medical budget.
- Collaborate across Medical Affairs functions to maintain a cohesive, enterprise-wide approach.
- Ensure activities comply with applicable company policies and medical affairs standards.
Required
- MD degree.
- At least 6 years of medical affairs experience.
- Previous experience in pulmonology.
- Strong knowledge of medical affairs planning.
- Ability to work independently and in a matrix organization.
Preferred
- Previous launch experience.
- Previous leadership experience in medical affairs.
- Global experience or experience across multiple regions, including the US.
- Experience leading by influence across cross-functional teams.
