Provide virtual primary care for employees and their dependents across all ages, with care delivered by video or phone. Day-to-day work includes episodic, preventive, acute, and occupational health visits, plus injury care and follow-up as needed. The role also involves referral coordination, treatment planning, documentation in EMR, and participation in virtual health training and medical staff activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual medical consultations by video or phone, including diagnosis and treatment.
- Provide episodic, preventive, acute, and occupational health services for a member population of all ages.
- Conduct histories and physical examinations and prescribe medications or medical treatments within scope of practice.
- Develop treatment plans and educate patients on medical issues, follow-up needs, and self-care.
- Coordinate internal and external referrals to appropriate medical or specialty resources.
- Monitor patient progress, evaluate the effectiveness of care, and identify emergency situations that require escalation.
- Document care accurately in the EMR and meet quality, satisfaction, and connectivity standards.
- Participate in medical staff meetings, annual program goals, and company-sponsored virtual health training.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state.
- Board certified in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Primary Care, or Emergency Medicine, or board eligible in one of these specialties.
- At least 3 years of post-residency clinical experience.
- Current, unrestricted DEA certification and ability to prescribe under applicable state and federal laws.
- Meets Premise Health credentialing requirements.
Preferred
- Prior experience in primary care, urgent care, or an emergency room setting.
- Occupational health experience.
- Prior telehealth experience.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records.
- Experience with workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA recordkeeping.
