Provide remote pediatric triage and clinical support for infants and children, using chat/SMS, phone, and video visits to assess urgent concerns, guide care escalation, and help families access the right level of care. The role also includes ongoing assessment of new patients, education around home monitoring equipment, and follow-up on abnormal results and care gaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess urgent pediatric concerns and triage patients to appropriate virtual care or emergency services.
- Conduct clinical assessments across chat/SMS, telephone, and video-based encounters.
- Follow evidence-based pediatric protocols for triage and clinical decision-making.
- Provide ongoing psychosocial assessment, reassurance, and rapport-building with families.
- Identify barriers to care and help reduce gaps in appointments, medication management, and follow-up.
- Educate patients on remote monitoring equipment for infant health.
- Monitor abnormal diagnostic results and respond in a timely manner.
- Document care thoroughly and escalate issues to multidisciplinary teams as needed.
Required
- BSN-prepared Registered Nurse.
- Current unrestricted multi-state compact RN license.
- At least 3 years of experience in outpatient pediatric primary care, pediatric urgent care, or a pediatric emergency setting.
- Experience providing virtual, phone, or in-person pediatric triage care.
- Ability to work remotely via video, phone, and text.
- Availability for weekend, holiday, and rotating day/night shifts.
Preferred
- Experience in outpatient pediatric care.
- Prior virtual or phone-based pediatric triage experience.
- CLC or IBCLC certification.
- Sleep Consultant certification.
- Spanish-language care experience.
