This role centers on collaborating with Nurse Practitioners in a virtual care environment, with responsibilities focused on chart review, clinical oversight, and supporting prescriptive authority as needed. The work is primarily asynchronous and remote, with occasional meeting or regulatory collaboration requirements tied to state and federal rules. It emphasizes evidence-based decision-making and the ability to supervise multiple advanced practice clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with assigned Nurse Practitioners in a virtual team setting.
- Perform patient chart audits and related oversight activities in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Delegate prescriptive authority and support clinical escalation when needed.
- Participate in required meetings or other collaborator duties tied to state and federal requirements.
- Use evidence-based clinical guidelines to evaluate documentation and intervene appropriately.
- Provide remote supervision for a group of advanced practice practitioners.
Required
- MD or DO degree from a US-accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
- Active, non-restrictive medical licensure in 5-7 states.
- At least 2 years of experience as a practicing physician.
- Current DEA registration.
- License in good standing with no history of malpractice.
Preferred
- At least 1 year of collaborative experience with advanced practice practitioners.
- Telemedicine or virtual care experience.
- Ability to supervise at least 6 advanced practice practitioners.
