Provide remote infectious disease consultations for patients across a range of healthcare settings, with a focus on diagnosing and managing conditions such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tuberculosis, sepsis, travel-related illnesses, and emerging infections. Review clinical records, guide treatment decisions, and support follow-up care through secure telemedicine workflows. This role also includes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, infection control and antimicrobial stewardship guidance, and clear EMR documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audio/visual telemedicine consultations using an onsite telemedicine cart.
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of infectious diseases, including complex and emerging infections.
- Review medical histories, laboratory results, imaging, and other clinical data in EMR/EHR systems.
- Prescribe treatments, medications, and follow-up plans based on virtual evaluations.
- Coordinate with primary care and multidisciplinary teams to provide clinical guidance.
- Provide support for infection control and antimicrobial stewardship efforts.
- Document consultations accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Submit billing charges in billing software as required.
Required
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Infectious Disease (ABIM or equivalent).
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in infectious diseases.
- Ability to work a minimum of 7 shifts per month.
- Ability to navigate multiple EMR/EHR systems.
