This role focuses on independent utilization review for vascular surgery cases, evaluating medical necessity and clinical appropriateness for patient records in a remote setting. The work is flexible and limited in time, with daytime availability needed for peer-to-peer conversations. It is a 1099 contractor opportunity for board-certified physicians who can work within a technology-driven review model.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent utilization reviews for vascular surgery cases.
- Review clinical records to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care.
- Participate in peer-to-peer conversations during daytime hours as needed.
- Work remotely while maintaining HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
- Follow company policies and procedures for confidentiality, privacy, and security of health information.
Required
- Hold an MD or DO degree.
- Maintain a current, unencumbered Oregon state medical license.
- Be board certified in Vascular Surgery.
- Have at least 5 years of clinical experience, including residency if applicable.
- Be available during daytime hours for peer-to-peer discussions.
