Provide psychotherapy for older adults living in nursing homes, with a focus on behavioral health needs in the geriatric setting. Work closely with residents, families, and facility staff while collaborating with a psychiatric provider to coordinate behavioral and non-pharmacologic interventions. The role includes follow-up on treatment response, education on best practices, and support from clinical mentorship and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychotherapy sessions for nursing home residents.
- Round at assigned nursing homes and provide direct behavioral health care.
- Coordinate care with nursing home staff, residents, families, and psychiatric providers.
- Assess patient response to interventions and follow up proactively.
- Provide education on best practices and non-pharmacologic approaches.
- Integrate pharmacological and behavioral interventions as part of treatment planning.
Required
- Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Valid state licensure as a Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
- Experience working in a nursing home setting.
