Provide virtual psychiatric evaluations, biopsychosocial intakes, and medication management for college students with common mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and substance use disorders. This role centers on outpatient student mental health care delivered remotely, with culturally responsive assessment and attention to escalating risk when needed. Clinicians collaborate with supervisors, campus providers, and care navigation staff to support coordinated treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits.
- Provide biopsychosocial intakes with clear diagnostic assessment and whole-person care.
- Engage patients through the collaboration portal and virtual care workflow.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and on-campus treatment providers.
- Document clinical encounters to support care coordination.
- Partner with care navigation staff to support students.
- Coordinate longer-term treatment plans with campus care teams when needed.
- Assess urgency and escalate risk scenarios appropriately.
Required
- Hold a valid New York Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
- Have at least 1 year of experience in an outpatient community mental health setting.
- Have experience treating common mental health conditions in college-aged students.
- Be comfortable providing virtual care with a stable internet connection and quality video camera.
Preferred
- Have multi-state licensure.
- Have experience working with diverse patient groups.
- Have experience with culturally responsive treatment.
- Have weekend or evening availability.
- Have experience with cross-licensing or operating across multiple states.
