The Lead Clinician provides telemedicine care for patients in hormone health and wellness while serving as the main day-to-day clinical leader for an NP/PA team. The role combines direct patient care with case escalation, chart review, provider coaching, and quality oversight. It also involves helping refine protocols, support onboarding and training, and partner with compliance, operations, and medical leadership in a growing virtual practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day clinical guidance and escalation support to nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- Conduct chart reviews, monitor clinical quality, and give constructive feedback on documentation and care standards.
- Coordinate follow-up on critical lab results, urgent findings, patient concerns, and other escalated clinical issues.
- Support provider coaching, case review, onboarding, and ongoing professional development.
- Partner with the Medical Director to review and refine protocols, treatment standards, and decision-support resources.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, and people teams on scheduling, licensure, credentialing, prescribing, and performance processes.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient complaint review, and clinical trend monitoring.
- Maintain an active telemedicine patient panel and model strong patient-centered care.
Required
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in the states required by the organization.
- Current prescribing authority and ability to meet applicable controlled-substance prescribing requirements.
- Significant clinical experience as an NP or PA.
- Strong clinical judgment and experience managing complex or escalated patient-care situations.
Preferred
- Telemedicine experience.
- Experience in hormone health, men’s health, women’s health, primary care, functional medicine, or a related specialty.
- Previous clinical leadership, provider mentoring, or team-lead experience.
- Working knowledge of chart review, documentation standards, quality improvement, and patient-safety practices.
