Provide one-on-one coaching to prospective medical school applicants, helping them shape application strategy, refine essays and personal statements, and prepare for interviews. Support students in selecting schools and programs that fit their background and goals, while offering guidance across the broader admissions process. This is a remote, part-time contract role that uses internal tools to track progress and manage timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with prospective medical school candidates to identify opportunities to strengthen their applications.
- Provide strategic guidance on school selection, essays, resumes, recommendations, and interviews.
- Review and edit application materials, including personal statements and other written content.
- Support students with project planning, application timelines, and progress tracking.
- Manage relationships with applicants and families throughout the admissions process.
- Stay current on medical school admissions requirements, program differences, and application nuances.
Required
- Hold an MD or DO degree.
- Have served on a medical school admissions committee or admissions board.
- Have 5-7 years of experience in education, coaching, tutoring, or medical school admissions consulting.
- Demonstrate strong English reading, writing, and editing skills.
- Demonstrate strong verbal communication and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Have experience in project management and applicant tracking.
- Have a passion for coaching and mentoring students.
