This role centers on collaborating with advanced practice providers who deliver orthopedic and sports medicine care, with support for patient care activities, prescribing, and escalation when cases exceed APP scope. The physician’s day-to-day work is largely administrative and consultative, helping maintain licensing, credentialing, practice agreement oversight, and timely clinical backup through phone or electronic communication. It is a contract role with a remote workflow, but the physician must live and practice in Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as collaborating physician for APPs practicing in Florida.
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation for patient care issues that exceed APP competency, education, training, or experience.
- Support referrals or escalation to a physician or other healthcare professional when clinically indicated.
- Be available by telephone or other electronic means when APPs are providing medical services.
- Support licensing, credentialing, CAQH updates, payer enrollment, and related administrative workflows.
- Participate in APP competency and qualification evaluation, including peer review activities.
- Review and approve the Practice Agreement and support updates as regulations or clinical operations change.
- Sign collaboration, credentialing, and regulatory documentation in a timely manner.
Required
- Board certified in Family Medicine.
- Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine.
- Actively licensed and in good standing in Florida.
- Physically located and practicing in Florida.
- Available to serve in a collaborating physician capacity for APPs.
Preferred
- Experience supporting APP collaboration, credentialing, or supervision workflows.
- Experience with orthopedic or sports medicine care models.
- Comfort with responsive administrative coordination and documentation.
