Provide virtual medication abortion care for patients through a telemedicine platform, reviewing medical intake, determining eligibility, and communicating by secure messaging or live video visits. Care is delivered alongside nursing and patient advocate teams, with prescribers handling medical inquiries that need further evaluation and directing referrals or additional prescriptions when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical intake responses to assess eligibility for medication abortion treatment.
- Conduct video or asynchronous virtual visits with patients on a HIPAA-compliant platform.
- Communicate with patients through secure messaging and live video appointments.
- Prescribe medication abortion treatment through a mail-order pharmacy for eligible patients.
- Respond to medical inquiries that require additional medical evaluation.
- Direct nursing staff regarding referrals and additional prescriptions as needed.
Required
- MD degree.
- Active Arizona license or licensure in CO, DC, DE, IL, MD, NJ, or WA through residency/IMLC eligibility.
- Availability for 15-20 hours per week during clinic hours.
- Ability to provide telemedicine-based reproductive health care.
Preferred
- Experience with reproductive health or medication abortion care.
- Comfort working in an asynchronous telehealth model.
- Experience practicing with secure messaging and video-based care.
