Provide virtual medication abortion care for patients through video, phone, and asynchronous visits, with eligibility review based on medical intake responses and live clinical follow-up as needed. The role also includes responding to medical inquiries that require further evaluation, directing nursing staff on referrals and additional prescriptions, and supporting patients using a HIPAA-compliant messaging workflow. Care is delivered within a multidisciplinary telehealth model, with administrative tasks, education, non-urgent support, and follow-up review largely handled by nursing and patient advocate teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medication abortion visits via video, phone, and asynchronous messaging.
- Review patient intake information and determine eligibility for online treatment.
- Communicate with patients through a HIPAA-compliant messaging app and live appointments.
- Prescribe medications for mail-order pharmacy fulfillment or local pharmacy pickup.
- Respond to medical questions that require further clinical evaluation.
- Direct nursing staff on referrals and additional prescriptions as needed.
- Coordinate with nursing and patient advocate teams for follow-up support and education.
Required
- Current NP licensure or eligibility to practice as an advanced practice clinician in New York or New Jersey.
- Ability to work part time in the stated remote schedule.
- Experience providing care in a telehealth or virtual setting.
Preferred
- Spanish language fluency.
- Prior experience in reproductive health, sexual health, or medication abortion care.
- Experience working with asynchronous or text-based patient communication.
