This role provides remote, asynchronous-first patient care for women’s health and general medicine, with an emphasis on shared decision-making, acute and chronic condition management, and timely response to visits and messages. The physician also supports weight management care and other telemedicine-appropriate specialty services within Alpha’s treatment guidelines. In addition to direct care, the role includes case review and consultation with NP and PA colleagues and careful documentation in the internal EHR and AthenaHealth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient-centered care through asynchronous telemedicine visits and messages.
- Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within general medicine, women’s health, and weight management.
- Respond to routine visits and messages within the required turnaround times during business hours.
- Respond to urgent care visits and messages within the required turnaround times during business hours.
- Provide in-the-moment case review and clinical consultation to NP and PA colleagues during scheduled shifts.
- Document patient encounters accurately in the internal electronic health record and AthenaHealth EMR.
- Practice according to evidence-based clinical guidelines, Alpha treatment protocols, and telemedicine regulations.
- Protect patient privacy and follow contractual, state, and federal requirements.
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited U.S. allopathic medical school.
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
- Current DEA registration.
- Active licensure in Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
- Strong English communication skills and proficiency with electronic health records and Google Workspace.
Preferred
- Telemedicine experience.
- Multi-state medical licensure.
- Practice foundation in women’s reproductive health.
- Practice foundation in obesity medicine.
- Additional licensure in Alabama, California, or Georgia.
