Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, and therapeutic support for patients enrolled in PHP and IOP programs. Work in a multidisciplinary behavioral health setting, coordinating care with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other team members while supporting crisis intervention and treatment planning. The role includes patient and family education, documentation, and participation in regular clinical rounds and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and intake assessments for PHP/IOP patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Provide ongoing medication management and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Coordinate care with therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and other team members.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in the PHP/IOP setting.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, rounds, and treatment planning discussions.
- Document patient care in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Required
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant.
- Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience prescribing medication.
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, psychiatric medications, and treatment modalities.
Preferred
- Experience in a behavioral health setting, including PHP and/or IOP.
