The clinician provides psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, medication management, and therapeutic support for patients enrolled in PHP and IOP behavioral health programs. Care is delivered onsite and includes crisis intervention, treatment planning, and ongoing medication monitoring for individuals with mental health conditions. The role also involves collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other team members in a structured, team-based treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and intake assessments for patients in PHP and IOP programs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric assessment findings.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Provide ongoing medication management and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Coordinate care with therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and other team members.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when needed in a PHP/IOP setting.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions.
- Document patient interactions and treatment in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
Required
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant.
- Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience prescribing medication.
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, psychiatric medications, and treatment modalities.
Preferred
- Experience in a behavioral health setting, including PHP and/or IOP.
