This clinician provides psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic support for patients enrolled in PHP and IOP programs. The role centers on behavioral health care for individuals with complex mental health needs in a structured outpatient setting. It also includes collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other team members to support coordinated treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and intake assessments for PHP/IOP patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric assessment findings.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Provide ongoing medication management and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Coordinate care with therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and other team members.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in the PHP/IOP setting.
- Participate in clinical team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions.
- Document patient interactions and treatment in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
Required
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant.
- Current, unrestricted state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- At least 1 year of experience prescribing medication.
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, psychiatric medications, and treatment modalities.
- Ability to provide formal clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians if eligible based on licensure and state regulations.
Preferred
- Experience in a behavioral health setting, including PHP and/or IOP.
