Provide longitudinal telehealth care for adults with obesity, focusing on evidence-based weight management, medical treatment planning, and non-controlled obesity medications. The role is primarily remote and team-based, with collaboration alongside advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians. It also includes documentation, quality improvement, and limited supervisory or chart-review responsibilities as the program evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct telehealth patient care for chronic weight management and obesity treatment.
- Develop treatment plans and manage complex or escalated obesity-related concerns.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Collaborate with registered dietitians and participate in physician-led, multidisciplinary care.
- Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and relevant departmental meetings.
- Support APP professional development through feedback, education, and potential supervision responsibilities.
- Conduct chart reviews and return visits for APP patients as the role expands.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification.
- ABOM diplomate status.
- Active licensure to practice and prescribe in Missouri, Alabama, or Mississippi.
- Multi-state practice capability through an IMLC Letter of Qualification or the ability to secure one after hire.
- Experience providing telemedicine care.
Preferred
- Prior credentialing with insurance payers.
- Experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
- Medical fluency in Spanish.
