Provide longitudinal telehealth care for patients with obesity, focusing on evidence-based weight management and medical treatment planning. The role emphasizes ongoing virtual follow-up, prescribing non-controlled obesity medications, and working within a physician-led, multidisciplinary care model that includes registered dietitians and advanced practice professionals. The position is fully remote, with flexible scheduling, protected administrative time, and participation in rotating after-hours call.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct telehealth care for patients with obesity and chronic weight management needs.
- Develop treatment plans and provide medical management support for complex cases or escalated concerns.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Collaborate with registered dietitians and other members of the care team to support longitudinal care.
- Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients on a recurring basis to support quality and continuity of care.
- Follow clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently.
- Participate in team-based care initiatives, departmental meetings, and quality improvement efforts.
- Support the professional development of advanced practice professionals through feedback and continuing education.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification, with ABOM diplomate status required.
- Active licensure to practice and prescribe in Alabama, Missouri, or Mississippi.
- Multi-state practice capability through an active IMLC Letter of Qualification or eligibility to secure one promptly after hire.
- Ability to perform telemedicine visits.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to evidence-based obesity care.
Preferred
- Prior experience conducting telemedicine visits.
- Prior experience collaborating with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
- Current or previous insurance payer credentialing.
- Medical fluency in Spanish.
- Licensure in multiple states.
