Provide longitudinal telehealth care for adults with obesity, focusing on evidence-based weight management, treatment planning, and medication management. The role is team-based, with collaboration alongside registered dietitians and, over time, potential involvement in APP chart review, return visits, and supervision. This is a remote position with flexible scheduling and protected time for administrative work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telehealth visits for patients with obesity and chronic weight management needs.
- Provide evidence-based treatment planning and medical management for complex or escalated cases.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Collaborate with registered dietitians to support longitudinal, multidisciplinary care.
- Ensure documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and relevant departmental meetings.
- Support APP development through feedback, continuing education, chart review, and possible supervision responsibilities.
- Use a proprietary mobile app for video visits, messaging, photo journaling, and digital data review.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification.
- American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate status.
- Active medical licensure and prescribing authority in AL, TN, OK, MO, IN, SC, or GA.
- Current IMLC Letter of Qualification.
- Insurance payer credentialing.
Preferred
- Prior telemedicine experience.
- Strong virtual bedside manner.
- Experience working collaboratively with APPs and registered dietitians.
- Medical fluency in Spanish.
- Multiple state licenses.
