This physician role provides fully remote telemedicine care for patients with obesity and complex diabetes, with a strong focus on endocrinology management, insulin titration, and use of CGMs and insulin pumps. The work also includes follow-up visits, chart review, and management support for patients with CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular comorbidities. Clinicians collaborate with advanced practice providers and registered dietitians in a multidisciplinary, evidence-based care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care through virtual visits for obesity medicine and comprehensive diabetes management
- Conduct initial and return telemedicine visits and review charts for continuity and quality of care
- Manage complex endocrine cases, including insulin titration, CGM use, and insulin pump therapy
- Support care for patients with CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular comorbidities
- Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity and diabetes, including in coordination with APPs
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers and registered dietitians on patient care plans
- Follow clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently
- Participate in team-based care, departmental meetings, and quality improvement efforts
Required
- MD or DO degree
- Current board certification in Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any US state
- Eligibility to obtain additional state licenses as needed
- Currently opted in with Medicare
- Clinical experience in obesity medicine or endocrinology, or completion of an accredited fellowship in Endocrinology or Obesity Medicine
- Experience managing complex comorbidities and advanced diabetes care
Preferred
- American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification
- Experience providing synchronous care in a telehealth setting
- Experience working with APPs, residents, or trainees in a clinical academic setting
- Bilingual medical fluency in Spanish
