Description

This physician role focuses on telemedicine care for patients with obesity and complex diabetes, with particular attention to insulin management, CGMs, and insulin pump therapy. The clinician also reviews charts, manages return and initial visits, and helps guide care for patients with CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular disease. The practice is multidisciplinary and remote, with collaboration across physicians, advanced practice providers, and registered dietitians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care through telemedicine visits for obesity medicine and comprehensive diabetes management
  • Conduct initial and return visits and review charts to support continuity of care
  • Manage insulin titration, complex insulin regimens, CGMs, and insulin pump therapy
  • Coordinate care for patients with complex comorbidities, including CKD, ESRD, and cardiovascular disease
  • Prescribe non-controlled medications for obesity and diabetes
  • Collaborate with APPs and registered dietitians on patient care plans and supervision as needed
  • Follow clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways consistently
  • Participate in quality improvement, departmental meetings, and team-based care initiatives
Required
  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certification in Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
  • Eligibility to obtain additional state medical licenses as needed
  • Current Medicare opt-in status
  • Clinical experience in obesity medicine or endocrinology, or completion of an accredited fellowship in one of these areas
  • Experience managing patients with complex comorbidities and advanced diabetes care
Preferred
  • American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification
  • Prior experience providing synchronous care in a telehealth setting
  • Spanish medical fluency
  • Experience collaborating with APPs, residents, or trainees in a clinical academic setting
