In this role you'll review veteran medical records and author the medical evidence (Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and nexus letters) that helps veterans substantiate service-connected conditions before the VA. This is a fully remote, flexible-volume engagement: you take on as many completed opinions as your schedule allows.
What you'll do
Review submitted medical records, service history, and claim documentation for each veteran.
Complete DBQs in accordance with VA formatting and evidentiary standards.
Draft nexus letters that clearly articulate the medical rationale linking a condition to military service with sound clinical reasoning.
Maintain thorough, defensible documentation for each opinion you produce.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted NP license in your state of practice; multi-state or compact licensure preferred.
Board certification through ANCC or AANP required.
Strong medical writing and record-review skills.
Preferred background
Prior experience with C&P (Compensation & Pension) exams or other VA-related work is a strong plus.
Veterans and veteran spouses are strongly preferred.
Familiarity with the VA disability claims process and IMO writing is important.
Compensation
Compensation is given on a per-task basis on a 1099 contract
Minimum of 5 hours/week
