The Medical Laboratory Technologist supports accurate, timely, and reliable clinical laboratory testing by processing specimens and performing assigned moderate- and high-complexity tests. This role is centered on quality-controlled lab operations, including troubleshooting testing issues, documenting corrective actions, and helping ensure patient results are released only when systems meet performance standards. The technologist works closely with laboratory leadership and the broader lab team in a diagnostics-driven, tech-enabled care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform specimen processing and assigned moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing.
- Follow laboratory procedures, quality requirements, manufacturer instructions, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of testing activities, competency, and corrective actions.
- Investigate testing issues and help resolve quality or performance concerns.
- Coordinate with laboratory leadership and team members to support reliable test reporting.
- Ensure patient results are not released until testing systems meet established performance specifications.
Required
- Training and competency in moderate- and high-complexity clinical laboratory testing.
- Experience with specimen processing and laboratory quality procedures.
- Ability to work in a non-supervisory laboratory role.
