Provide virtual psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders, with a focus on assessment, medication management, and monitoring of medical and psychiatric stability in a high-acuity telehealth setting. The role also includes supervising advanced practice providers, supporting families, and working within a multidisciplinary care model alongside therapists, dietitians, peer coaches, and family coaches. This is a remote position with flexible hours, administrative time built into the schedule, and a strong emphasis on collaborative, evidence-based treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management for patients with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions.
- Provide evidence-based treatment plans and support patients and families throughout the recovery process.
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory trends, and other objective data to assess medical and psychiatric stability.
- Execute collaborative practice agreements and supervise APPs across psychiatric and general medical backgrounds.
- Coordinate care with therapists, dietitians, medical staff, nurses, and outside providers to support closed-loop handoffs.
- Use the electronic medical record to communicate with patients, caregivers, and the treatment team.
- Document encounters timely and complete routine chart audits and compliance-related coaching.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, supervision, continuing education, and department meetings.
Required
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or board-eligible status after completing an accredited fellowship.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in one or more states.
- At least 3 years of clinical practice with experience supervising or mentoring advanced practice providers.
- Experience or strong competence in eating disorder medical management, including refeeding risk and stability monitoring.
Preferred
- Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup or rapidly changing clinical environment.
- Strong experience collaborating with diverse interdisciplinary teams and external providers.
- Background in managing high-risk psychotropic medications.
