Conduct remote, evidence-based medical record reviews as a neurosurgeon, focusing on neurological and spinal conditions, surgical care, traumatic brain and spine injuries, degenerative disease, and impairment or disability questions. Prepare objective clinical summaries, answer client-specific questions, and participate in peer-to-peer discussions when needed. This role is fully remote and advisory only, with no physician-patient relationship or direct treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records for neurological surgery cases and related spine conditions.
- Prepare clear clinical summaries and objective evidence-based opinions.
- Respond to questions about surgical interventions, treatment planning, causation, impairment, and disability.
- Participate in peer-to-peer communications when necessary.
- Assess return-to-work considerations and other case-specific functional issues.
- Use a secure online portal to review fully prepared case files and clinical guidelines.
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board certification in Neurological Surgery.
- Current, unrestricted Texas medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in neurosurgery.
- Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions.
- Ability to maintain applicable licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements.
Preferred
- Experience with medical record review or physician reviewer work.
- Familiarity with impairment, disability, and return-to-work assessments.
- Experience evaluating both surgical and non-surgical neurological management.
