The Peer Coordinator facilitates peer-to-peer discussions between treating providers and independent physician advisors, primarily by gathering availability, scheduling calls, and tracking referral status. The work centers on coordinating communication for medical review referrals rather than direct patient care, with frequent updates to clients and careful documentation of each interaction. This role is work-from-home and relies on strong time management, computer skills, and clear communication across calls, email, fax, and text.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate peer-to-peer calls between treating providers and independent physician advisors.
- Obtain availability from providers and schedule discussions across different time zones.
- Use multiple communication channels, including phone, email, text, and fax, to manage coordination.
- Work with the CSR team to facilitate peer-to-peer conversations based on received availability.
- Address windows of opportunity received from clients or treating providers.
- Input and track referral notes for all correspondence between staff, providers, and reviewers.
- Update clients on scheduled, pending, and missed calls.
- Process incoming faxes promptly, log availability, and upload documents into the referral system.
