Provide objective, evidence-based orthopedic spine case reviews by examining medical records and clinical documentation, then writing clear clinical summaries and advisory opinions. This fully remote role focuses on spinal conditions, orthopedic procedures, and treatment decisions rather than direct patient care. The work is performed as an independent contractor with schedule flexibility and case selection based on availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and clinical documentation for orthopedic and spine cases.
- Prepare concise written summaries and evidence-based medical advisory opinions.
- Respond to client questions related to orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, and spinal disorders.
- Evaluate documentation for orthopedic procedures, spine procedures, and treatment-related decisions.
- Apply clinical judgment to support objective, defensible medical determinations.
- Use an online work portal to complete advisory case reviews.
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited medical program.
- Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery and/or Spine Surgery.
- Current, unrestricted Tennessee medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical orthopedic and spine surgery experience.
- Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and objectively in writing.
Preferred
- Experience reviewing medical records and clinical documentation in an advisory setting.
- Background in evaluating spinal conditions and disorders.
