Review medical records and provide evidence-based occupational medicine opinions for work-related injuries, illnesses, disability questions, fitness-for-duty concerns, and return-to-work determinations. The work is fully remote and focused on independent chart review rather than in-person patient care. You may also address medical necessity, causation, impairment, treatment appropriateness, and workplace exposure issues through written advisory reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and supporting documentation for occupational health cases.
- Conduct evidence-based assessments of work-related injury, illness, causation, and work status.
- Prepare concise, comprehensive written reports and clinical summaries.
- Provide independent medical opinions in response to client-specific questions.
- Participate in peer-to-peer discussions when needed.
- Apply current clinical guidelines and standards of care to review determinations.
- Coordinate with administrative support for case materials and workflow through an online portal.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Current, unrestricted Washington medical license.
- Active clinical practice or recent experience in Occupational Medicine.
- At least 5 years of post-residency clinical experience.
- Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions.
- Maintain applicable licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements for reviewer work.
Preferred
- Board certification in Occupational Medicine.
