Conduct independent, evidence-based medical record reviews for occupational medicine cases involving work-related injuries, illnesses, fitness-for-duty questions, impairment, disability, return-to-work status, and treatment appropriateness. Prepare concise written opinions and clinical summaries based on the records and the specific questions posed by clients. Work is fully remote and focused on advisory review rather than direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and supporting documentation for occupational medicine cases.
- Conduct evidence-based assessments of medical necessity, causation, work-relatedness, and functional limitations.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive written reports and clinical summaries.
- Provide independent medical opinions on impairment, disability, fitness-for-duty, and return-to-work recommendations.
- Participate in peer-to-peer discussions when needed.
- Apply current clinical guidelines and occupational health standards to each review.
- Answer client-specific questions related to treatment plans, outcomes, and workplace health issues.
Required
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Occupational Medicine preferred.
- Current, unrestricted Washington medical license.
- Active clinical practice or recent experience in occupational medicine.
- At least 5 years of post-residency clinical experience.
- Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions.
Preferred
- Experience evaluating work-related injuries and illnesses, disability, impairment, fitness-for-duty, and workers’ compensation cases.
