The clinician will perform in-person Independent Medical Examinations and peer reviews for Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act cases, primarily in otolaryngology. Work is case-based and advisory only, with no treatment or doctor-patient relationship established. Assignments are flexible and are focused on objective, defensible evaluations and written opinions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person IMEs for Longshore cases
- Perform comprehensive peer reviews of medical records
- Provide detailed, timely written reports
- Maintain compliance with LHWCA standards and documentation requirements
- Manage cases independently and meet assigned timelines
Required
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- US board-certified or board-eligible in Otolaryngology
- AMA 6th Edition certified, or willing to become certified
- Experience with 30+ Longshore IMEs and/or peer reviews
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
Preferred
- Prior work with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, employers, or IME vendors
- Multi-state Longshore case experience
- Prior Longshore IME and/or peer review experience
