Conduct telework-based medical record reviews for otolaryngology cases, providing advisory clinical opinions, case summaries, and responses to client questions. This work focuses on peer-to-peer review rather than direct patient care or treatment. The role is independent contractor-based and allows flexible scheduling with case volume chosen according to availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical records for otolaryngology cases and evaluate the medical evidence presented.
- Provide written clinical summaries and determinations based on the record review.
- Respond to specific questions submitted by clients.
- Participate in peer communications as needed to support case review.
- Use a web-based portal to access organized records and treatment guidelines.
- Work within a streamlined review workflow that supports timely completion of determinations and reports.
Required
- Board Certified in Otolaryngology.
- Active, unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Ability to complete required orientation and training.
- Maintain necessary credentialing, licenses, and certifications for the role.
Preferred
- Prior experience with medical record review or utilization review.
- Comfort working in a telework, advisory-only role.
