This role focuses on remote, advisory-only review of clinical cases in plastic surgery, with an emphasis on gender affirmation treatment and patients with gender dysmorphia. The clinician evaluates medical records, writes clinical summaries, and responds to client questions rather than providing direct patient care. Work is done as a 1099 independent contractor with a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and evaluate clinical cases for medical necessity or case-specific questions.
- Provide concise clinical summaries based on the available documentation.
- Participate in peer communications and answer client-submitted questions.
- Apply medical expertise in plastic surgery, including gender affirmation treatment cases.
- Use provided treatment guidelines and organized record summaries to support determinations.
- Complete advisory-only case reviews without establishing a doctor-patient relationship.
Required
- Board certified physician.
- Current, unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Direct experience prescribing and treating patients with gender dysmorphia.
- Completion of required orientation and training.
- Maintenance of required credentialing, licenses, and certifications.
Preferred
- Experience in plastic surgery case review or utilization review.
- Experience with telework or independent contractor advisory roles.
