Physicians in this role review clinical cases remotely by evaluating medical records, preparing clinical summaries, and answering client questions through peer-to-peer communication. The work is advisory only and does not include direct patient care or treatment, and the case mix centers on endocrinology with experience prescribing and treating patients with gender dysmorphia.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records and clinical cases.
- Provide concise clinical summaries for client review.
- Answer specific questions posed by clients during case review.
- Participate in peer communications related to case determinations.
- Use a telework workflow to complete reviews based on scheduled availability.
- Review cases in an advisory-only capacity without establishing a doctor-patient relationship.
Required
- Hold board certification in Medical Oncology.
- Maintain a current, unrestricted Virginia medical license.
- Have at least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Complete required orientation and training.
- Maintain necessary credentialing, licenses, and certifications to perform the role.
Preferred
- Have direct experience prescribing and treating patients with gender dysmorphia.
