This is a telework medical review role for a board-certified medical oncologist to evaluate clinical cases, review medical records, and provide advisory clinical summaries and responses to client questions. The work is non-treatment, non-patient-facing, and focuses on peer-to-peer communications and case analysis rather than direct care. It is structured as a 1099 independent contractor arrangement with flexible scheduling and case selection.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records for oncology-related cases.
- Provide written clinical summaries and advisory opinions based on the record.
- Answer specific questions submitted by clients regarding case determinations.
- Engage in peer-to-peer communications as part of the review process.
- Use provided treatment guidelines and chronologically organized records to support determinations.
- Participate in required orientation and training.
- Maintain proper credentialing, state licensure, and required certifications.
Required
- Board certification in Medical Oncology.
- Current, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Ability to complete required orientation and training.
- Maintain applicable credentialing, licenses, and certifications.
Preferred
- Experience with medical record review or utilization review.
- Prior telework or independent contractor experience.
