This telework role focuses on reviewing endocrinology cases by evaluating medical records, writing clinical summaries, and answering client questions in an advisory-only capacity. The work is primarily case review rather than direct patient care, with peer-to-peer communication as needed. The role is structured as an independent contractor position with schedule flexibility and no doctor-patient relationship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical record reviews for endocrinology cases.
- Provide clinical summaries and written determinations based on the case file.
- Answer specific questions posed by clients about reviewed cases.
- Engage in peer communications when needed to clarify clinical findings.
- Use supplied treatment guidelines and organized medical records to support reviews.
- Participate in initial and ongoing training related to the review process.
Required
- Board certification in Endocrinology.
- Current, unrestricted Minnesota medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Ability to complete required orientation and training.
- Maintain required credentialing, licenses, and certifications.
Preferred
- Prior experience with utilization review, case review, or medical record review.
- Experience handling advisory-only clinical opinions.
