Provide remote, advisory-only clinical genetics reviews by evaluating medical records, preparing clinical summaries, and answering client questions on medical necessity and other case-specific issues. The work is case-based rather than patient-facing, with peer-to-peer communication as needed and no treatment or doctor-patient relationship. This is a telework, independent contractor role with a flexible schedule and support for case preparation, records management, and report delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records for clinical genetics cases.
- Prepare concise clinical summaries and written determinations.
- Respond to specific questions posed by clients.
- Participate in peer communications related to case review.
- Use the case portal and provided records/guidelines to complete reviews.
- Follow quality and turnaround expectations for report delivery.
Required
- Board certified in Clinical Genetics.
- Current, unrestricted medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Ability to complete required orientation and training.
- Maintain required credentialing, state licenses, and other job-related certifications.
Preferred
- Experience with medical record review or advisory consultation.
- Comfort working independently in a remote, case-based workflow.
- Familiarity with clinical guidelines used for utilization review or case determination.
