Conduct objective, evidence-based reviews of orthopedic clinical cases, focusing on musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Prepare clear medical summaries and respond to client questions based on the record, with peer-to-peer discussion as needed. This is a telework, independent contractor role with flexible scheduling and advisory-only review work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical records and clinical documentation for orthopedic cases.
- Prepare concise, evidence-based clinical summaries.
- Respond to client questions related to orthopedic care.
- Participate in peer-to-peer discussions when appropriate.
- Apply orthopedic expertise to support objective medical determinations.
- Work through an online portal with organized case materials and clinical guidelines.
Required
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Current, unrestricted New York medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical orthopedic experience.
- Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions.
- Maintenance of appropriate credentialing and any required certifications.
Preferred
- Experience reviewing orthopedic or musculoskeletal cases in a consulting or utilization review setting.
